What type of performance gains will I see with running AP Stg. 2 w/ DP only? I can't image it being the same as Stg. 2 w/ full TBE (approx 225whp). What kind of numbers would I typically be seeing...210whp would be my best guestimate.
Also, can I expect the same safty as the Stg 2 w/ TBE running just a DP or is the map too aggressive, causing some potential problem down the road?

There's plenty of info on this if you search, I know I've commented on running Cobb stage2 with Cobb dp and stock cat-back in a number of threads...
The general consensus seems to be about 10 hp lost if you use the stock cat-back with a full dp (no cats, or a high-flow cat). Maybe a greater loss with a stock 3rd cat. I doubt it's going to cause problems for you, you'll just be a little slower and lack the wonderful deep boxer rumble that a full tbe will give you. |

^I did a search for this but it turned a lot of threads that didn't really pertain to the question I had. I think the terms downpipe & cobb are used way to much to narrow down an effective search.
Thanks for answering my questions though. Just trying to make an educated decision on meh mods. ![]() |

Why just a DP?
The reason I ask, is cause ypu can easily make a more optimal Turbo back with little sound if you'd like... Check out daddysscp.com Look at the 3" divorced DP w/ cat, and 3rd cat eliminator...this gives you 3" piping back to the cat, then ti tapers to 2.5" for a stock style cat back... Also they have an option for a 3" mid section, that again will taper to 2.5" to connect to a 2.5" axle back. This would give you better exhaust flow, without a loud set up, and allow for bigger hp gains. Of course if sound is not an issue, and it's money or some other issue...This won't help... Just an idea though... |

^You hit it on the head with the money thing. I can always go full tbe later, but for now....$600 AP + $210 ERZ DP+UP...pretty good start & bang for the buck.
