Default STi Initial AP stage2 power

i had issues initializing the ap from day one and i ended up sending my ecu to cobb. anyways they sent it back with base stage2 93 oct 1.03. now my first few runs on the highway i didn't feel much of a difference. i know it takes 2 weeks but i it really felt like stock with tbe. so i drove home and reflashed the base map again...for some reason it took like 10 secs to do the reflash for the base map . this is weird..anyways it said "done" and i took the car out again. now i floored it and it didn't feel much faster stock. i'm just wondering if this is normal cause i read alot of threads saying how stage 2 is suppose to be amazing right after the car has been initialized. is this a random case per ecu?anyways any help would be great thanks.

Hey Ben, I was following your other thread on this subject elsewhere and thought I'd comment....
First off...since you got the "reflashed" ECU back, you had said you checked it with the AP and it said there was "no" map. I can't see how Cobb flased a map to your ECU if you didn't send them your married AP (maybe they can, I just honestly don't know but it seems weird). When you say you flashed a new base...it was the Stage 2 93 map right and you had all the connetors hooked up? And when it was done you checked your base map with the AP and it said Stage 2 93? Then you flashed the realtime Stage 2 93 map also?

Just trying to get a better feel for where you are...

I got them to reflash ecu to stage2 and also have the AP married to the ecu. When I hooked up the AP all the options were unlocked so its a good indication that its been married. The only thing that baffled me was when I choose the "current map" option which is base map it stated "none". So I thought I would reflash it to stage2 BASE map just to make sure. Now the process of reflashing the bas map usually takes 5-20 mins atleast. When I did the reflash it took like 15 seconds.....which i thought was totally weird. But now the AP acutally says "stage2 93v103" under current map. When i take it out on the road I don't feel much of a gain. I hope its just going through the learning process.

what boost is the car running? Stock should be a peak of ~14.5 (IIFC) , with the Stage 2 93 octane, I see 17.5 all the time. This will not tell you what map is being run, but it will give an indication of the power delivery of the engine.

ok i was just out with my cuz and we were testing boost in each gear. so here is what i'm getting max at WOT.....

(read through AP)
first gear...14.5psi
second gear....15.5psi
third gear....16.8psi-17.3psi
fourth gear....16.5-18psi

is this normal for the first and second gear not to hit target boost?
anyways i'll keep driving the car for another 2 weeks too see improvement.

I'm not sure about the peak boost in 1st and 2nd, but the 3rd and 4th gear boost seems right on target. My car is off the road, so I am unable to go out and do a run for the 1st and 2nd gear peak boost.

Keep driving it hard and keep us updated.
