Default Productions numbers for STi?

I used to have a 99 Civic Si (Milano Red). I think they made 15,000 per year for 2 years of the coupe version (5,000 per for the 3 colors available) for a total of 30,000. Lots of them have been lost to theft and accidents.

Are the STi's capped to a certain volume per year or per color?

Thanks

Steve

I remember seeing a post where someone e-mailed SOA .And they just came back with just how many were made with gold/silver wheels in 04..

So i'd say in 05 any where between 1 and 1 million.

I'd like to know this too. They don't seem as rare as they used to. Seems like every dealer has atleast 2-4 of them on their lots all the time.

I remember back when they first came out people auctioning off their spot on a list to be the first to buy on EBAY.

The volume per year is ~3500. That is not based on colors. I don't think that it is a capped vloume though, and they sell as many as they can. Just like when the WRX was introduced.

It wasn't supposed to be a limited production ever.

Maybe it's different in SoCal but in my state (NC), STis hang out for a LONG time before they are sold.

When I got my WRX the dealer in Feb '03 they hadn't sold one since Aug '02. This is cause they were selling Outbacks and foresters like hotcakes and trading out WRX's to other dealers for the Legacies and Foresters. It all a supply and demand thing, and becuse fo that fact they sold it for 22k with tax, tags, & title when sticker was 25.2k.
