Default 05' STI Cobb Tuning Accessport

Does anyone have any good experiences with this unit? I saw on Cobb's website that its release early last december and was really excited about it, i noticed they claim 277.7 whp and 316 wtq which are some damn good numbers if you ask me for just a TBE and Engine Management...if i were to consider this and the UTEC, which would you guys get? And i realize that cobb is coming out with the AccessTUNER and i will get that as well for the tuning capabilities it has so in that sense i cant seem to decide between it and the UTEC, but the one thing that the UTEC does scare me about is the cost of getting it tuned, im in no way compitent enough to tune and nor am i rich enough to pay $175 per hour to a local shop to tune it for me because they have been known to scam people on dyno time and essentially take more time then needed...what do you all recommend?

And also, if those of you all that have the Accessport could do it all over again, would you all choose the accessport again or run a different engine management???

A lot of people like the simplicity of the Accessport. I am happy with mine as well. Very noticeable increase in power and a good route to take if custom tuning is out of the pocketbook.

checkout the imprezawrxsti.com forum a lot of reviews there as well.

I have the 05 STi AccessPORT and like it.... I wouldn't do it all over again if I had to. I am running stage 2 with just a downpipe and stock cat-back and yesterday I put down 256whp/272 tq (SAE corrected) on a dynojet. The car only has 1,500 miles on it and was flashed for about 1.5 weeks. So it's still learning. Those numbers would move a lot closer to the 270's when the rest of the exhaust is installed (I hope). A stock 05 sti, w/ k&n typhoon, with 4000 miles put down 241/245tq right before me.

I like the AccessPORT for now and am extremely pleased with the torque number I got with it. I am running pretty rich though which I expected because of Cobb's conservative/"safe" maps. I am hope the exhaust will lean it out a little but I don't know.
