Default 02 wide-band sensor same as EGT?

Is there a faq yet for a wideband sensor? I was thinking of getting a EGT gauge but then I came across a wideband sensor and wondered if it would give me the same info if not more. Id rather spend the extra bucks and have an easy install.

No. .they're not the same. WBO2 is used to detect the air/fuel ratio while EGT is used to detect exhaust gas temperature. An EGT gauge will tell you if your engine is running too hot or too cold, while the WBO2 will tell you if you're running too rich or too lean. They are related to one another since the leaner you run, the higher your EGT's will be and vice versa. Most people get an EGT gauge. A WBO2 is nice, but it's more expensive and unless you have a need for one in order to do tuning on your car, I would say an EGT would be sufficient.
