Default Cobb AP Stg 2

Hello everyone!

I am looking for a 12 sec. run in a 1/4 mile track, and I posted here about it a while about specific parts, but I have not decided yet.

For those that have AP Stg2.. how fast did you guys run in a 1/4 mile track?

12 second flat or anywhere within 12 seconds? A lot depends on your launching skills as well.

huh? English please. Like casualsurfer said, a lot of it depends on your reaction timing. Mess that up and there goes your chance of getting close to 12's. Now don't break an axle.

Reaction time has nothing to do with ET. Any other pearls of wisdom?

And stage 2 isn't going to get you 12 flat. Think mid 12's if you are a great driver.

So is it safe to say Stg 2 AP gives a perfect driver 1/2 second better in the 1/4 mile? Not .6? Not .75?

I don't think it is safe to say anything b/c driver ability varies so much from driver to driver. I think between 12.5-12.75 seconds in the quarter would probably be typical for many drivers with AP stg II. However, I'm sure there are really good drivers that could do better and really bad drivers that could do worse. I think it would be VERY tough to get a 12 flat with a AP stg II, but it's not outside the realm of possibility if somebody was a REALLY good driver. If the starter of this thread is asking I would say he/she is NOT going to get a 12 flat. That's what I was saying...

I got your point, and thanks for being honest! I have not been in a 1/4 mile track before, but I do believe I'm a decent driver. How can I say so I just believe in my abilities.

So, I guess it's safe to say that an AP Stg 2 can get you in the 12's with a decent driver. Well.. I appreciate all the inputs!

No, don't get me wrong. I wasn't tryin to dis ya. I just think a 12 flat on AP stg II w/only TBE (regular TBE, not a dump tube, no headers, pulleys, et cet...) would be next to impossible unless you are an incredible driver. I also consider myself a decent driver and I know I couldn't get a 12 flat on my AP stg II. Honestly, I think I would run a 12.6 or 12.7, but I will have to wait until spring to find out.

As long as my car is 12.5ish CAPABLE...I'm happy. For now, hehe.

No way in h*ll that just a Cobb stg 2 STI is running 12.0-12.3 in the 1/4 mile...there just isnt enough HP there.

At best, with the BEST driver & BEST conditions, you are looking at 12.4 on pump gas with JUST Cobb stg 2. Add some race gas and proper tune, I dont think 12.2-12.4 would be a problem.

On the bright side...I got to take a ride in one.......holy crap, that thing was so fast. Easy high 12 sec car.

For 99.999% of the population I agree. I wouldn't say it is impossible though with the right driver and temp/conditions... especially if better wheels/tires, dump tube TBEs, headers, porting/polishing, et cet... are brought into the equation.

post removed...didn't read the posters name.

Thank you to the three people who pointed this out, I was unable to read the first and second person who pointed it out. Finally after scooby24 said this, I was able to get the point.

From my understanding and knowledge AP Stg 2 will run low to mid 13's....not 12's.

I have Stg 2 and I was running 13.54........so

Put the car on a diet...Save a couple huindred lbs...cut a few tenths off your time right there...

Smaller diameter tires...Help get more power to the ground quicker...Also cut some time...

Add a full TBE and a AP stage 2, cut a few more thenths...

Add a solid driver w/ a 12.5sec run...Priceless...

It's amazing what the simple things in life can bring...
