Reservoir. Don't remove the one one the radiator. It supposedly has issues with sealing back up properly. I top-up through the reservoir.

Thats BS, I had them all remove and reinstalled. I use 2 STi caps and just recently reinstalled the factory ones since I went to the dealer and didnt want them messed up by the mechanic. No leaks or smell.

Lightbulb Tip

Donaudi : If you notice. . the cap on the engine has ears on it. The cap on the radiator is round. . The STi 1.3 bar cap has ears right? Should be on the package as well.

Ok so after about 2 min of deep thought i knoticed the pressures on the two caps were diffrent. The one on the resvior round one had a higher pressure than the one on the radiatior w/ears. So i put the round one from the resvior on to the radiator and put the STI cap on the resvior. Sounds good? Let me know if this is unadvisable.

isn't that higher pressure caps be tougher on the hoses?
it would suck if u pay 48 bucks for an eye candy and risk cracknig a hose

yes, the STi and for that matter all of the upgraded radiator caps should be 1.3bar. You upgrade because the car is supposed to run hotter at higher boost. This caps are for people with upgraded hoses and radiators...but if you dont push your car on a track (not 1/4) you should be safe. I have this set up since I bougth the car, and have over 100 passes on a 1/4 track with no problems. I probably wont advise to use them if you run in autocross or something similar since the engine can be pushed hard for long periods of times. Myself I would >STi ll< use them but I run it at my own risk

~~~~> the strut bar came from a used STi in Japan (titanium)
~~~~> the c/f cover is a piece from www.lnronline.com, its non-functional since it keeps the heat of the alternator trapped, so its one of those bling-bling pieces.

I have taken my STi 3 times to the dealer, and no problem. All you have to do is unbolt one 10mm bolt that holds the AC line by the firewall, flip the bracket and bolt it again. That it.

back to the topic...

is there any different between WRX and STi radiator?

since many WRX owners saying that the STi high pressure rad cap caused blew their rad...

just wondering does the STi rad has the ability to hold that high pressure?

I'm wondering what the point is. More pink under the hood? The word STi? Are there real concerns with the "performance" of radiator caps out there? Just leave them alone unti lthey dry rot in 10 years.
