Default Failed AccessPort Install on 05 STi

Well all in all my car must be some sort of fluke. I first had trouble with finding these 2 green connectors that were suppposed to be hanging under the dash. The reason i had this problem was because they were actually plugged together already. This is weird because this should not be happening. even after going and seeing a subaru tech he also said that this should not be and my CEL light should flash when i turn the car on. Well it does not he was puzzled. Now i am sittin here with an accessport for my 05 STi and i cant use it. it lets me enter in the map i want and it will try to load it but it stops at "Initializing..." three dots and then tells me to turn the car off and on and try again but it will never go past those dots. So what do i do now? Any help with this would be awsome because i am so stuck and it really sucks.

Thanks

I heard there is another pair of green plugs on the passenger side. One forum member had this happened to him. Those are probably UNplugged. For normal car operation, one pair should be plugged together and the other unplugged.

You'll love the improvements after you upload your Base map

Wan2, I assume you are Shane. If not, then this will not make any sense.

Call me at the shop sometime this week and we will try to figure out a time to bring your car by. Maybe together we can figure this thing out. I didn't know that you were still having problems.

-try a "reboot"...disconnect the greenies, as they should be.

of course, don't have the accessport connected...check the passenger side [i can't confirm this so have a look...connect if not -can't hurt]

double check your accessport manual.

make sure all your stuff is OFF, dome, mirror, clim/control, cruise...etc. then disconnect your neg cable, make sure it's not touching the battery post...pump the brake a dozen times or so...read the manual for another 10 minutes...connect the neg cable...connect the greenies [drivers side] plug in the accessport and try loading the base again...i just installed on monday -it's great...stage 1 spec boost in 45 minutes!!! i was so impressed, went over to scs and picked up the cobb tbe today...it's in my living room! install on weds. by suby specialties...can't wait!

good luck, eh!

OMG!!! Give me your STi!!! There are 2 places for the green connectors. One is on the drivers side and the other is on the passenger side. Look on the passenger side for the 2nd set. The PDI guys sometimes connect the wrong side by mistake, some 04-05's have had this done at the factory on the wrong side. If you still can't find them do a search on Cobb's website for Green Connectors. You're not the first one to run into this, but you are the first one that didn't do a search. I'm surprized the Subaru tech didn't know this... I guess you're all noobs. Look on the passenger side, they are there.

1.open passenger door
2. pull up door sill (hard, you have to unclip like four connections).
3. the door sill is connected to a plastic plate inside the car by your passengers right foot where the door meets the body.
4. move this plate/sill and look for two more green connectors (they are not the same shape as the ones on the drivers side) if they are not connected do so. you can leave them connected for ever as long as your driver side's aren't (which is how it usually is from the factory).
5. now connect your drivers side connectors per the usual instructions, turn the car "on". if your car is in test mode the CEL will blink and you will hear your fans cycle. turn your car off and connect the initialization connector and follow cobbs instructions.
