Default Accessport+Stealthback Q's for owners of either

Hi I have an 05 STi and recently installed a TXS stealthback exhaust and Accessport.
After about 200 miles of driving i got a Check engine light code P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold along with the blinkin cruise light (annoying b/c it looks like i have the turn signal on). I thought the accessport was suppose to fix this CE code. So i checked cobb's website and i was correct. Since the 05 STi Accessports just came out i would think it comes with the most recent mapping. But not sure. Does anyone else have this problem?

Also, each time i change maps, the car doesn't want to start. It turns over but i have to blip the throttle in order for it to start. This only happens when i switch maps. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Not sure if this has anything to do with any of my problems. I installed Cobb stage2 93 octane before i installed the stealthback. But switched to stage 1 93 octane right after I did that. Then a few days later got the stealthback installed and just reset the ECU and was at stage 2.

I will give Cobb a call when they return from Tokyo. But will ask here first.
Thanks
any comments will be appreciated

I think in order for the AP to take care of the cells, you have to be running the same realtime map as your base map. Maybe try flashing your realtime map to the stage 2 again?

I don't think so...from how i understand it, you can only be running one map. Just running the base map should take care of the CEL

With my 03 WRX I had the accessport and a full catless exhaust and never had a CEL.

Thanks for your reply...anyone else?

I've got an AccessPort on my 05 Legacy GT, and the initial (1.00) Cobb Flash didn't fix the P0420 CEL Light. I ended up doing the 'Mechanical' CEL fix, but yesterday Cobb released 1.01 for my car, and this finished removing the CEL.

I would try getting the latest maps. Sometimes you get older maps than the latest and greatest.

Also, to answer your question... you were right. You can only have one map active at one time, but you need to make sure that you have a stage 2 base map and then you choose your realtime map. I don't think that the stage1 map will get rid of that code. The realtime map just lays those settings over your base map but the base map puts down more options/settings than the realtime map.

I looked on the forums at Cobbs site and Trey said the 05 STi accessports come with the most recent mapping. I looked at the map notes for the 04 STi and it said stage 2 should eliminate the cel. There is no map notes for the 05 STi. Maybe the mapping is different on the 04s and 05s???
Also i don't know why the car doesn't want to start when i switch maps.
Also how long does it take for you to switch realtime maps.
On my 03 it took like 2 seconds, but on my STi it takes like 15 seconds. Very weird.
Im thinking i should uninstall then install the accessport again.
I will call cobb on monday.

Reset the CEL with the ap. I got one after a couple hundred miles, but after I reset it once it never came back (10k+miles).

After installed an APS TBE the check engine & cruise control lights came up. I tried resetting the AP, but after several attemps with no luck I installed a mechanical CEL fix and no problem.

Another vote for the mechanical fix. I had the stealthback on my 05 FXT before I got the AP in and ended up with the CEL. I used the mechanical fix and never saw the problem again. I now have the AP and the mechanical fix. It will probably help pass emissions too.

after lookin at WRXforums, The AP is suppose to get rid of that CEL. Trey said to try downloading the map from the site, so i did. But still too early to know if that did the trick.
