Default Aem Ems

Hi

I purchased an AEM EMS for my WRX. Currently I have UTEC and I am tuning it myself.

So the question is "which one (EMS or UTEC) requires more work and knowledge to tune" ?

btw i read that i would need a resistor to use my low impedance injectors (I have the PE 800s and guess they are low impedance). What kind of resistor is that and where do i install it?

Aem ems don't let you use low imp. inj.?
I think you can use high or low . There should be an option on the inj. setting.
I Could be wrong, I remember seeing that on AEM website.
From what I heard the map that AEM EMS come with is not driveable. Only can get the car started, and that's about it.
So I would say....... yep AEM requires more tunning and knowlege.

The AEM EMS require more work but you can achieve more horspower and much more control over the motor.
The AEM EMS dont control low impedance injectors on the WRX unless you install a resistor pack.
The PE 800 are high impedance so dont worry.

Why would you get AEM if you have a UTEC?

AEM gives you a LOT more control of a LOT more features. make sure you have it tuned by someone VERY familiar with the product. I highly reccomend this product to someone who has access to a tuner know knows the ins and outs of the unit.
