I got mine out just by wiggling it, without jacking up the engine. There are two motor mounts if you actually want to jack up the engine, make sure you got them both. Also, make sure that you have disconnected the EGT probe.

Is the car on jacks or ramps? If its on ramps the car will look like its lifting up as you jack the engine, but really its only going up because you are taking weight off the suspension. So just keep lifting. If you have it on jacks, undo both sides and try that. And also make sure you un bolt the egt probe like jard said.

you can get it out by pushing it up and down threw the down pipe location (since it is off). Meaning the turbo side of the uppipe will go up then facing the firewall and then the turbo side of the uppipe will be facing down to the ground in the down pipe spot. You might have to twist it a little but it came out very easy for me on the last car I helped on by doing it that way.
