Default autometer electronic boost gauge...

alright, so this evening I installed autometers' electronic boost gauge (#3377). there seems to be a slight problem. my peak boost in 3rd gear seems to read 19.5psi and a high boost reading all around. I am stock with a 3/16" mod. I used the factory hose that comes off the factory bypass valve off the intercooler and continues into the car that was used for the factory boost gauge. I conected the sensor to the hose right underneith the dash. should I mount the sensor right near the hose coming off the bov underneith the hood for a more accurate reading? anyone know what might be the problem?
