Default Got my prodrive springs installed.... where to get KYB AGX struts?

So I got my prodrive springs installed. So far I LOVE them. The rest of the suspension is stock. I have read alot on this particular forum that the KYB AGX strut/ prodrive spring combo is a great one. Where is a good, reliable, decently priced place to get the KYB AGX part for the 04 wrx? And is it just called the strut? shock? what? Sorry, I am kind of a suspension newbie. Just wanna make sure I get the right part. I want these -

Thats basically all I would need correct? Cause that looks to be the shock, and then the spring would go over it, and sit on the cup. Then the tip rod part would screw into the tophat. is that right. Please help a newbie learn. Thanks.

An arguably better setup would be Koni struts (inserts) with the Prodrive springs. AGXs adjust rebound and compression at the same time, giving you a very jarring ride in the mid to upper ranges of adjustment. Koni single adjustable struts only adjust rebound, resulting in what some consider to be a more compliant, yet controlled ride. Do a search on this combo, quite a few people have tried it.

Also, consider going with STi Group N hardened strut tops. They allow your struts to more effectively dampen the spring.

IIRC, KYB hasn't come out with a '04 application for their AGX struts. Some on here, however, have installed the '02-'03 ones on their '04s. Try running a search on "2004 KYB AGX" and that should yield you some good info.

I ordered mine through daddy's in NE, but I saved a lot because he was local so there was no shipping. Also I think if you order 02 wrx top hats then you will have no problem with fitting 02-03 agx. I would check on ebay because i heard of people getting them shipped for $400. I love my agx/prodrive set up!

Also check Tire Rack, they have both the KYB and the Koni's.

I'm very interested to hear how you like the spring/strut setup, whatever you chose to go with, so keep us updated. Do you use ur car in autox?

Well even with the stock struts I love the ride. Its very smooth. I do not autox as of yet, but there is a track up here I would like to get to this spring/summer/fall. especially since I got new wheels and tires.

Will the '04 Prodrive springs fit correctly with the '02-'03 struts, I'm assuming the only difference in the spring is the top hat compatibility... but I wanted to make sure this would still be effective since I have already bought '04 Prodrive springs and plan on getting AGXs very soon.

If you love it, why do you want to change it? Unless the stock struts are doing something specific that you don't like, don't bother changing anything. The AGXes at full soft are = stock, and when you stiffen them up they get harsh & bouncy. You'll have a whole lot more fun by spending the $400 you would've spent on struts... on 10 autoxes or a track school.

Save some money and get GR-2s. I just installed GR-2s on my 03 WRX with my Prodrive springs. The car is so much better now. The damping is just right for the street, if you track the car then AGX would be better. They area also more comfortable then the stocks and quieter over bumps.
