Talking Java UTEC Tuning Tool (JUTEC)

I've started Java based (cross platform) UTEC Tuning tool. The origonal post is on WRXHackers.com

http://www.wrxhackers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3020

This is a cross post, yes, but I can't post files here.

In short, a UTEC tuning tool that now supports Linux and Windows. First public release allows a user to connect to the UTEC and pull logger #1 data to the GUI (I find this useful right now heh). I'd like to have people test just how cross platform this tool really is I'm coding up some 2D real time graphing functionality right now, then I'll work on the map editing.

Ideas, suggestions are welcome, but be sure to check out WRXHackers first.

Thanks,
-Eric

Default nice

i like the idea of the graphic interface, it would be nice to have a map editor that allowed for graphical display of the fueling/timing/boost maps individually for a load column accross all rpm with a click and drag feature for smoothing...

im not familiar with javascript...

Thanks Download it, I need to know if this thing works for other people as is, that is before I start cracking on new features. Though, all it does now is pull logging data from the UTEC.

Thumbs up

Sell it to turbox's, and then buy yourself an STi divetrain and give it to me for giving you the idea. You should just call it J-TEC.

But really mad props for the idea and press on.

So.. if its java, then you could implement Apple support as well as linux... Any plans for a Mac version?

Do you run OSX? I can try to throw something together for you to try. You can be my little test monkey, since I don't own a Mac.

Actually even easier than that. No recompile of main code. Just compile a package that supports serial port functionality. Plug in, and play

I was working on building 3d surface maps of fuel/boost/timing in Java, but have been running short on time. Here's what I was thinking of: http://www.navgen.com/java3d/surface.html

It would be cool to be able to visualize the maps, then ultimately be able to select points on the 3d map and drag values up/down to generate a new values in a new map.

Oh, another idea would be to plot on a 2d map the a/f values from a Tuner log (W/B) from the utec. Kind of like most of the dyno plots you see here. That would be helpful I'm sure.

I found that link a while ago also I'm tooling around with Java 3D, but first will be 2D graphing.

Yes, the newest version of OSX.. thanks for even considering the idea... as it stands now I will have to buy a new computer or use virtual PC to program a UTEC. I don't own a UTEC yet, but I will within the next month and a half. Thanks!

BTW, check out the link to WRXHackers. I might not continue the path with JUTEC as origonally thought.

http://www.wrxhackers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3020

The reason why is Zutec. ANOTHER Java based tuning utility. I'm not in the market for reinvention. Go to the link below and see if user cdvma will prepare an OSX enabled application for you.

Give me ideas folks, I have the mad skillz, lets cover some new ground with tools that don't already exist.
