Default Exhaust Temp sensor on JDM up pipe

Guys,

Do you know if the stock JDM up pipe (that comes with the twin scroll VF37) comes with an exhaust temp sensor?

I did a VF37 conversion on my MY03 2.0 rex but it the CEL light came on after about a week and my mechanic told me that the JDM up pipe does not come with an exhaust temp sensor. Can anyone confirm this?

Any side effects if I put a resistor to trick the ecu?

I doubt the up-pipe would have sensor. It would possibly have a bung, but no JDM STI up-pipes I've ever seen or heard of have them.

Do the 2.2K ohm resistor mod and you'll be set!

They do not come with one, since the EGT sensor is only there to check the health of the uppipe cat.

The resistor trick works great with zero negative side effects.
