This is the same tune just did some pulls. I was surprised how close the two dyno's are.

On the street I hit 16-17 PSI and on the dyno only 14 PSI

Doug did not use a fan on the intercooler. He only sprayed it off with H2o between pulls. Outside temp 75 degrees.

  • AP v2 Stage 2 Cali Map 91 octane (at the time I was running v1.00 of the map, I have since upgraded to v1.01 but I don't expect any appreciable difference from the earlier version)
  • Cobb catted Downpipe
  • That's it! (for power mods anyway)
The Dyno plot was on Harman Motive's Mustang Dyno. I'm also throwing in a stock 08 STI plot which was done not on my car but the same dyno about 9 weeks earlier.

Default Car Finally Finished

Here is the run down. Well over a year of anticipation and headache the guys at PIA fixed me up and Tim Bailey finished her up on a cold February evening. What started as a headache with ECU programing (Thanks Tim and PIA for the assistance on that.) Followed by a necked down 3" exhaust (2 spots were down to about 2.25") A new V2 access port and a new JIC exhaust. I was plesantly suprised when my fuel pump cut me off at 32psi boost. This is what i ended up with:

Had one run at 508 when fuel pump cut out but wasnt a clean run more of a spike.

Mod list is as follows:
New STI shortblock
CP Forged Pistons
Balanced STI Rods
Walboro fuel pump (i need to add another to get more HP)
ARP Head Studs
ACL Rod Bearings
JIC 3" Exhaust
Perrin FMIC
GT35 Turbo (Thanks Dude that has the nice grey sti whose name eludes me as i type this post but i think its Ryan but im probably wrong because i suck at names.)
Perrin 860cc side feed injectors with rails
Perrin Blow Through Boost Tube
Perrin SS BOV
Aquamist Methanol Injection Kit
Exceedy Twin Plate Clutch w/ lightened flywheel (Thanks Mike)
COBB Access Port V2
Perrin Equal Lenth Header
Apexi AVC-r Boost Controller (100% Tim Bailey Approved )
Perrin Catch Can
Greddy Catch Can
Cosworth oil pump
1st Ever Dave made License plate relocator.
2nd Ever Dave made faux pedal.

Big thanks again to Steve, Ryan, Mike, Dave, BJ, Tim, and all of the rest of the guys (i promise to remember everyones name next time.)

Next Mods:

Get Header Wrapped
TGV Deletes
Another Fuel Pump

It would be great if the following is added when members post there dyno results:

Injector Size
Base fuel pressure
Injector Duty Cycles at the time of the run.

Possible HP delivery can be fairly accurately calculated with theses figures and members can use this to check the validity of there tune or dyno results.

Example:

An 850 cc injector on a STI at 80% duty cycle and 45 PSI base fuel pressure can support 108 flywheel HP per injector or 432 flywheel HP or 432*.73 = 315 HP to the wheels.

The same 850 cc injector at 100% duty cycle and 55 PSI base fuel pressure can support 585 flywheel HP or 430 HP to the wheels but, who in there right mind will run this setup

If your tuner sudenly make 15 - 20 % more power than what the injector can support, you have to question both tuner and the accuracy of the dyno.

Power delivery feels perfect so far. Max boost is around 20.xx psi tapering to 15.xx by redline. I'll post a graph if I can figure out how to do it. Not totally sure how the "hosting" thing works.

Nope, you abviously have no clue what your talking about.

As one on the tuners on this car, Im insulted that you would call BS. If your tuner isnt hitting these numbers, that not my fault. Come see H&H Performance in Fayetteville NC and Me and Robbie will hook you up!

On an 04 STi? Yeah I stand behind my opinion that either the dyno needs calibration or there are other mods other than the CAI and TB exhaust without EM. I'm sorry you feel put out by it.

And your posting someone elses numbers on here? Man thats messed up. Its not even your car?

Read the post Above yours.

It is his car. and he has a Cobb AP V1.
and I Tuned it.

EDIT* and the dyno was maintenanced and calibrated Friday. Stock STi's put down in the 238ish whp area. His Car was a stage2 and was making 260whp 240ish tq as a base.
