Default 2nd thoughts about installing my turbo inlet hose...

mods on my '04 WRX:
BPM tt-series TBE
STi uppipe
K&N panel filter
Cobb's AP stage 2 (hwy map)

i got a good deal on a Samco turbo inlet hose. cobb's website says you need to use the stock intake with stage 2 maps, but nothing about the inlet hose. if the uppipe is within the parameters of the mapping, would it be safe to assume the same for the inlet hose?

i've searched and searched, and found a lot of different opinions that the car would run anywhere from "within parameters", to substantially leaner with the aftermarket hose.

would it be safe to install with cobb's AP? should i just hold off for a while until i can get a dyno-tune? sheesh, maybe i'll just save for an STi l

Why not call Cobb?? They would be able to give you the definitive answer. That's their job.

I'm running a perrin turbo inlet, with a apexi short ram, and a cobb stage 2 map, If anything its still slightly running rich.

fyi: its a PITA to install the hose.

the inlet isnt going to make a huge difference. It will help spool, but its not going to alter any characteristic enough to warrent worrying. The samco just has a smoother inside then the stock peice. Put it on and go have fun.
