Default update on my paint problem and my experience w/ Irvine and SCS

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...24#post8676824

well, I need to say that both places suck and that I'm now going to have to figure out how to go about fixing this problem when I have absolutely no money at all... For those of you who don't know, read my other post about the problem... I'll try to get some pics up somewhere soon. This sucks. Both dealerships said that it was a claimable problem. Sure it looks like a stone chip or something NOW... but 1.5months ago, it looked like a paint defect!! now, after all the rusting and slow chipping away of the paint from all the recent rain and snow, yeah... dont look like no paint defect anymore...

It's a conspiracy I tell you... give customers the runaround til the problem gets so bad that it looks like driver error and/or road debris instead of a defect... then deny warranty work. ***????

Write a letter to SOA, and send a pic of the damage.

Awhile back on my rear bumper near my driver side wheel well my paint started flaking off. I didn't even bother trying to take it in for warranty work because this might happen.

My solution was to touch it up best I could and cover it up with a rear lip. How big is the chip? Your best bet now probably is to clean the chip. If the chip is small. Go to pepboys and they have stuff to stop and prevent rust. Get some touchup paint and clearcoat. Problem solved.

I had a blemish under the clear (in the paint) when I bought my car. Dealership sent it out 2 times to get painted and it looked worse after they did the work than before; color didnt match, overspray, etc.
