okay, so i'm installing sidemarkers... they have the same plug on the back as the stock ones(they're authentic jdm subaru parts) so i cut the plug on the front sidemarkers in order to get the plug that will fit into them.
i cut the red with green stripe and the black wire, on the driver's side stock sidemarker... it was dark so i had the lights on... i know, i know, stupid. but when i cut it, ALL the aux lights(at least in the front) went out. so, did i blow a fuse? when i spliced the longer wires in, they still didn't work. did i mix up the wires during splicing, or did i blow a fuse? it's really cold outside and i don't want to go out there without knowing what to look for. sorry, if i could go back in time i never would have chosen to do this... but seeing as i'm in the swamp, anyone want to help me out?

Make sure you undo what ever wiring you did else you'll just blow another fuse

You probably blew the fuse because you cut both wires at the same time and the tool you were using shorted out the + and the - wire. Just a guess. If you cut the + and - seperately then the tool had to ground on something while you were cutting the + wire. Not to be a smartass but don't cut any more wires with power on them.
It makes life alot easier. |

haha yeah it was cold and i wasn't thinking.
20 degrees and a sweatshirt really wasn't the best way to do this. i fixed it now, it's all working fine. |
