Might be visiting Scottsdale, AZ. What is there to do for fun?

I just found out that I might be headed to Scottsdale, AZ on business travel. I think I would be staying in a big resort somewhere.

What is there to do for fun in this town? Is there a nightlife?

In fact, if you go late MArch, you can catch them while they're still a little sluggish from hibernation.

That and golf is all I got.

since your gonna be in SNOBsdale, closest thing to do is goto old town scottsdale (a couple cool bars and clubs) or down to tempe (just south) right next to ASU is a street called "Mill Ave" they have ton of bars and fancy restuarants.

There are really two Scottsdale's, Old town Scottsdale and North Scottsdale. Try and get a car, if you want to see the sights or get to bars you'll need to drive, or use a car service. There a bunch of bars that people go to, to be seen at, but generally your typical Scottsdalite is kind of pretentious and annoying.
Golf is great, but if work is paying for your hotel ask them to include a round of golf. The FBR open is in a week or two, is a good watch.

definetely next week IF they send me. Someone at work advised that there are indian reservations casinos or something. He wasn't sure if that was in NM or AZ. I dunno, but I do know the states are HUGE. Also Las Vegas is 300 miles away, bummer.

I'm sure I'll probably hang out in the resort, and drink with coworkers if nothing else. If we can score a round of golf, that would be sweet. I need to learn that sport, and now I see why so many corporate managers play. business travel is the reason.

It depends on what you wanna do. I live actually on Mill Ave. in downtown Tempe. It is more of a relaxed bar scene. If you are looking for more clubs or lounges than old town Scottsdale is the place to be. There is a ton of things to do in AZ you just have to know where to look. Lounges for rich olf people would be Pu$$y Cat Lounge and Six. Clubs would be Myst or Axis|Radius. Good bars in Tempe, I would have to say Mill Ave. Cue Club, or if you like dueling pianos then definitely go to the Big Bang in Tempe.

IF you like the bar/club scene, then Scottsdale and Tempe are the places to be. Otherwise, there's not much else besides golf. If you like Sushi, go to Ra on Mill. So good, and lotsa college hotties around for good scenery.
