Default The Houston to State Meet Thread

Figured we could get one going ourselves:

Who is going when?

Caravans?

DFW meeting places?

Etc. etc.

I am planning on leaving on friday but need to find places to stay.

why are you needing dfw meeting places?!

we'll probably leave friday evening... we take 290 as it is the fastest way to north austin... and that's usually where the festivities kick off...

I agree with Rob, 290 is faster for north austin, it depends on which side you are going to.

and besides, the 290 drive is more fun (as a matter of opinion).

heh, so maybe we need 4 groups, I-10 or 290 friday night, and then I-10 or 290 saturday?

suck it up! I've made the trip more than you can imagine... we can get from houston to pluckers in 2 hours... can't even get to south austin on I-10/71... plus the cops are horrible on 71... not bad at all on 290...

I'm gonna have to have cat drive just in case... I really can't use another ticket... I've already set my record at 2 in like 4 months...

I might tag along, we'll see, even though I've left the Scoob fold (oh how I miss the interior from a 1985 Hyundai )

Depends, were you wearing the coveralls (and had a chain wallet) or not?

I am planning on friday night also. A little later in the month (february) I am sure people will start to figure out when they are leaving and we can get a group together for the drive to pluckers.

If I am to go, and I believe I am, then I will go Friday. Where's the 'optimally placed' hotel someone was mentioning the other day?.. or did I just overhear a conversation that I'm now remembering?

I want to try to get out of work a bit early to leave and avoid some traffic... Anybody else that can do that can make up the EARLY friday group...

James, the ramada at 183 and burnett is the closest hotel to pluckers and is just mere minutes from david's...

My wife and I will probably be ready to leave around 3-3:30. Is anyone bringing their kids or are they staying with babysitters. I have either option but I don't want to bring him if he will have noone to play with.
