Default JDM Spec C engine queries

Hi all!!!

Am hoping for some advice from anyone here who can help...

has anyone dropped a jdm sti spec c engine in their subaru b4?

was told by several workshops that the spec c engine basically uses the same engine block as a standard jdm sti...however, the only difference between the jdm spec c and jdm sti is in the design of the spec c's heads as well as its higher lift cams.

does anyone know more about this?

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks!

You were told right... Different head/cams for the spec C/Type RA cars, for the most part.

Who ever told you this knew what they were talking about. Like everyone else has said before Legos. That engine can go into any Subaru that came with an EJ series engine. If the car is currently not swapped you'll need the entire harness and ECM to run the engine to it's full capacity. If it's going into an '02 or later WRX you can get by with the ECM and a little bit of wiring that is needed to run the AVCS.
