Lightbulb Pushin' the LEDs

Got problems with bulbs burning out on your car? Try replacing them with LEDs! LEDs last more than twice as long as regular bulbs and can be much brighter. Here is a site that sells LEDs for direct replacement of bulb for cars.Super Bright LEDs They have built in resistors so no need to add any in series. I've already ordered a few to replace my corner bulbs and will be ordering others to test out when warmer weather comes our way. I will post what I think of them in comparison to regular bulbs.

P.S. They do have some warnings about changing some bulbs to LEDs. They have a small write up on his page. Warnings

first warning is that leds must have lenses on them and these lenses have a different viewing angle of incandescent bulbs.

this post is retarded, did they pay you to post this?

LEDs do not require lenses. They are not built with lenses, and either are incandescents. The housing on your car is basically a lenses that focuses the light. It is true that the way that the light is reflected may be different with LEDs, thatís why I was doing to do testing and give the results.

It is true that they do have different viewing angles which are narrower than incandescent on most for now. If you looked at the site you'd seen that some have been built with LEDs pointed out to the sides and pointed straight out for maximum coverage area.

No they did not pay me. I put this up because I feel that LED are the future of lighting. I personally like LEDs over incandescent and was just trying to get the word out to people that might like them too and want an alternative to the 100 year old incandescent bulb. Good to see that I can have some adult constructive criticism by your "retarded" comment.

incorrect.

the housing on MY car is a reflector, as are ALL us-spec imprezas.

a LENS is exactly what focuses the LED inside the LED bulb. and all of the bulbs that would replace bulbs on imprezas on that site have lenses.

i would appreciate some consideration on your part that you're not some LED messiah, this isn't the first time that many of us have heard of LEDs, and while your little thread was informative as to a place to buy LED's, it was biased as to the kind of information that you gave and the warnings link was rank of a legal disclaimer.

yes, LEDs are superior in some ways to incandescent bulbs, but our cars were DESIGNED by very intelligent(dare i say, more intelligent than you and i) engineers at subaru and while incandescent bulbs do burn out, they work more than well enough for our cars. if anyone chooses to switch to LED bulbs, that's fine- but they should understand that it is NOVELTY. not some idolic "wave of the future".

if you're not affiliated with that website, stop sounding like you are. good to see that you falsely place yourself above common vernacular and crude language when dealing with this website. you're not a savior, you're a chicken hawk.

when i say retarded, i do not intend to mean 'mentally'. i meant that it does not give a fair testiment to the use of LED bulbs where they weren't designed to be used.

well I apologize if I came off as some all knowing messiah, that was not my intention. The whole purpose was just to educate. I did search the forums and there didn't seem to be alot of mention of LEDs as replacements so that is why I posted. The website I sited was just one that I had found that seemed to offer good product and information. Again I am not at all affiliated with that website.
