Default Can I put WRX seats in a 1st gen Legacy?

I have a 1993 Legacy sedan and I would like to put WRX seats in it. Does anybody know if they will bolt in or would I have to fabricate something? I've read that they will bolt into 2nd gen Legacys but the seating position will be high. I haven't been able to find anything about the 1st gen Legacys. Do all '02-'05 WRXs (non-STi) have the same seats? Also, is there any way to remove the airbag charge inside of the seat? If I'm thinking right, all WRXs have side airbags in the front seats. Please correct me if i'm wrong. As long as I don't connect power to the seats there shouldn't be any danger with them going off, right? I just want to be extra safe since the airbags wouldn't be doing me any good in the Legacy. I for sure want to swap the front seats but does anybody know if the back seat would work as well? Finally, I've been researching for a while but I can't find a definitive answer to this one: Do the '02+ 2.5RS Imprezas have the same seats as the WRX? I know that the 2.5RS doesn't have side airbags so if the seats were the same otherwise this would be an ideal swap for me. Thank you for any help you folks can give me on this.

Default seats

First check out www.legacycentral.org It only features 1st gen legacy's, and 2 yes the do fit, but you will be sitting pretty high, I've got 2000 RS seats in my legacy, they bolt up no problems, and are very comfortable. The seating position is less hight.

Hope this helps

If you find that they fit, I have a pair of front seats from my 03 wrx sedan that I want to sell. BTW if it helps the 03 seats are height adjustable.

yes they do fit, the front and the rear.

The front seats sit up a bit higher, which is wierd at first, but you get used to it. the only problem with the rear seat is you will have a gap on the side below the edge of the bottom section. it looks like this

the WRX has a little plastic thing to compensate for this.

these seats are in a 1990 legacy

Hey everybody, thanks a million for the advice. Snowjob, that's a great website. Jake15, those pictures are excellent, thanks. I'm going to try and find a set of seats at one of my local wrecking yards but if I don't find what i'm looking for then I will be looking for some online.

no problem man, just thought i'd throw in another good word for legacycentral. i spend way more time over there than here, as its more geared to my car and everyone over there really knows their stuff.
