Default Is COBB's AP worth buying?

I did some search about AP but I couldn't really find a review that has a little more deatails.
I was just wondering is COBB's AP worth the money?
Can you really feel the car has more power after just install the AP?
Does the anti-theft work well?

I'm thinking about to get one later this year for my 05 WRX when COBB has a AP for 05's. I hope you can give me some suggestion.

Thank you very much!

yes, i've got to agree with UGprez. the cobb 2.5 is awesome! i have it on my car and it's just phenomenal. although, since it's a fairly conservative map, gas mileage is somewhat a factor. i'm not sure though if that because i just love driving it hard and it always asks for more and more, or the fact that it retains the stock intercooler and runs a bit leaner, they have to compensate that with more fuel. either way, i still love it. but this thing pulls like a mofo.

on a side note, i had the cobb stage 2 which retains the stock turbo, and it was hella quick. it seemed like lag wasn't even there. boost came on almost instantly. the top end suffered a bit, given that the small TD04 doesn't have much on the top end, but in the overall aspect, it was great.

well, AP's not the best em out there, but it definitely worth the money(especially consider the resale value). had my stg2 for two weeks now, and totally happy. made a big, if not huge difference. added alot more torque and smoothness to the motor. turbo lag's still there, but significantly decreased.

and mpg wise, mine didnt suffer all the much(on a 04 ~30k). just got 135miles out of 3/8 tank, a 30mile conyon run+freeway. if u keep it out of boost, mpg not much worse.

If you want plug and play engine management, it's WELL worth it and very noticeable. If you dont like it, resell it for 'purt near what you paid for it.

I've been running the Stg1 AP for quite some time now and I love it. I will be upgrading to the Stg2 map as soon as my TBE comes in and then vf34 and injectors. Its definitely pretty solid if you're looking for good power without dyno and standealone $.

another suggestion is that the accessport is good if you want to start from a stock WRX and work your way up to the stage 2.5. that way, you get the most for your money. you guys are very lucky that the AP is out because i had to actually send in my ECU to cobb to have them reflash it to the stage 2. then they came out with the accessport which makes things sooooooo easy. just bolt on, reflash, and go without any waiting and wanting.

It's great if you want a safe, reliable, but conserative tune. If you want to tune your car to the edge and squeeze every little bit of power out, you'd be better off with a UTEC or something similar. If you want plug and play engine management, get the AP.

That said I'm very happy with my AP. Stage 1 was noticeably faster and smoother and I can't wait for Stage 2 which I hear is great.

Definately get one. There are two for sale in the private sale forums right now..I would definately consider one soon. Stage 1 is a great improvement over the stock map.
