Default This is NOT the WRX forum. This is the 2.0 turbo ENGINE forum

This means that this forum is here for questions and comments relating to the ENGINE. Please keep posts about your brakes, your headlights your shocks and your mad tyte JDm y0 crap in the forums they belong in.

If you have a question about the suspension and you are too daft to notice that there is a SUSPENSION forum, please, by all means, just dont post at all.

Or PM SubEd and ask him where it should go.

Hmmm ... All this time I thought that Wheels Freezing, Snow in my tires, and Emergency Brake questions had absolutely nothing to do with my engine ... Oh, that's right, they don't .... ...

But how would I know? you didn't use extra large font size. You're obviously joking, otherwise it would be bigger.

Only one way to find out...

[edited to remove unfiltered words]

The "F" word and "S" word get filtered. Presumably, racial slurs and derogatory terms do as well, but I didn't test for those.

So, what would turbos go under? After market induction? Since a turbo can fit 2.0 and 2.5 engines....Thats like 50% of the threads right their.

Yeah there is tons of loopholes. So if your running a VF39 or whatever that didnt come on the car that is Aftermarket Induction... but wait that was originally on an STi.. so is it 2.0?? 2.5?? Its all up to the Mods!

Guess that would depend on a few different things ...

Non Turbo ... Normally Aspirated
Factory 2.0l Turbo ... Factory 2.0l Turbo
Factory 2.5l Turbo ... Factory 2.5l Turbo
Other Factory Turbo ... Factory Turbo, not covered under other forums
Aftermarket Forced Induction ... Non Factory Turbo

Looks as if the turbo question goes under the type of engine it will be getting mounted/installed too ...

Not really. It's going on a 2.0L engine so it goes in the "Factory 2.0L Turbo" since the car originally had turbo.

"Aftermarket Induction" is for cars that did not originally come from the facotry with forced induction but it has been added, hense the "Aftermarket."

"Factory 2.5L Turbo" is for cars that are 2.5L and came from the factory with forced induction.

If the turbo is going in a WRX, it goes in 2.0.
If the turbo is going in an STi, it goes in 2.5.
If the turbo is going on a non-factory turboed Impreza, it goes in "Aftermarket Induction."

It seems so simple doesnt it?

Yet we get dummies that just dont get it.

IF THE MOTOR IS A 2.0 THAT CAME WITH A TURBO, AND THE POST HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT MOTOR, IT BELONGS HERE.

Now for the "A third grader could understand this" edition

This means, if you are putting a turbo from an STI, an online vendor, or one you pulled out of a sperm whales ass, onto a 2.0 liter motor, that came from the factory with a turbo on it, it belongs here.
There is no gray area. It doesnt matter what or where the parts came from, if its going onto a 2 liter motor, that came from the factory with a turbocharger, it belongs here.

idiots

me a mod? yeah right. They wont ever do that because they know I will go on an IP banning streak that will leave this website with 1/2 its users.

NO!!!! there are NOT ANY LOOPHOLES. Its very clear cut, it either has to do with a 2.0 motor that was turbocharged from the factory or it doesnt. If you are putting a vf39 on a wrx motor, it IS STILL A 2.0 FACTORY TURBOCHARGED MOTOR. Why in the living hell would you even think a post about a 2.0 motor would possibly belong in the 2.5 forum???

As for aftermarket induction, DID THE CAR COME FROM THE FACTORY WITH A TURBO, IS IT A 2.0 LITER? Duh, there ya go.

Aftermarket induction is for motors that didnt come with a turbocharger, as it CLEARLY states in teh forum desc....

OOO MY GOD!!!!!!, what size motor is it going on? And did that motor come with a turbocharger?

Lets break it down for the corkys in this group. Please take a seat and remove the hockey helmets
If you have a turbo, and you have an STI or a baja turbo, or legacy GT, and you add an aftermarket turbo to this vehicle, the motor is STILL a 2.5 liter motor, and it STILL came from the factory with a turbocharger, SO we can deduce that posts regarding this should go into
Are you ready?
FACTORY 2.5 TURBOCHARGED
Now, say you have a wrx, or any other subaru that came with a 2.0 liter motor, that came with a turbocharger, and you add ANY turbo charger to it, That post would belong in the FACTORY 2.0 TURBOCHARGED FORUM.
Now here is where it gets tricky, You have a wrx, it has a turbo, its a 2.0 liter, and your neighbors dog crapped on the hood, and you want to know what condiments go best with dog crap, or maybe how to clean it off, you would obviously post this in teh factory 2.0 forum right? I mean since it IS a wrx, and those have a turbocharged 2.0, it MUST mean that factory 2.0 turbo is the correct forum right?

WRONG!! BAD MONKEY!!!!!!

That would go under either interior@exterior modification and care, OR you could place it under Service and maint, OR Off Topic, but since this has NOTHING to do with your motor, it doesnt belong in the motor forum.

What if you have a 2.5 RS, and you add a turbo or supercharger to it, Well, since that motor is a 2.5 BUT it did NOT come with a turbocharger, it belongs in aftermarket forced induction.

I mean really, this is stuff that anyone with half a brain should already be able to figure out on their own just by reading the description of each forum.
