well the car needed help the wrx is ugly as sin,, of course i hope know one ever buys one for the looks,. i think a civic has better syling,, but i wantedd AWD turbo and it was the next affordable thing to a evo 8 wich was my 1st choice in cars,

so even though i did the ricer body kit i guess it doesnt hurt, and took the wing off

Ignore them. Car people are bigger racists than the KKK. You just have to understand, most people have a hard time dishing out big $$ for a Cosmetic. I'm not going to say anything bad, becuase I know you have some go to go with the show. But, I'm sure even you can agree, that somone dishing out big bucks for cosmetics when they have no power/performance adders is silly.

Everyone else: Keep your comments to yourself, atleast he is not driving around with a primer Grey Body kit and took time to have it properly painted and such.

Hey man, he asked... I'm not knocking him... I just don't support bodykits, especially when there is no "GO" to match the "Show" of the kit... Just as you said, Solar's WRX does have some pretty good "GO"... However, I'm sure that what I would have done is taken the money that I could have spent on a Bodykit and spent it on a nice set of JIC's to firm up handeling performance... Either that or saved more money for a STi 6 speed conversion or STi RA Gearset swap...... I am just all about functionality .... Always have been... I believe that bodykits destroy the "natural" aerodynamics that the factory desined the car to have. Because of the aerodynamics being changed, this can have a negative effect on the handling of the car at speed... In my eyes, handling is the most important thing about the car... Well, that and Braking... My 2 cents...

When it comes down to it though, it is all personal preference. I understand that we are not all alike. If we were then it would be one really boring world huh?? So I'll close with that great quote: "To each his own"

Function over form is the way I work. That is unless the cosmetics are VERY cheap (as in I can do it myself and spend probably less than $50). I would much rather have a fairly stock looking X model car that's VERY fast as opposed to a done up thing that can't drive over speedbumps and gets outran by Yugos (not saying this is the case here, as 12s are fairly respectable).

green, i have suspension work done also strut bars,, springs and such,,also steering bushings and lot into the shifter wich suxs,, short shifter from subaru.. less movement,, shifter bushings,, and a actual short shifter

as far as form over function im a huge beilever of that,, i have splurged verry little on cosmetics,.. and as for handling im not much into cornering, i would rather go fast straight and break 11s

i have some car shows in febuary and march to attend,, im hanging up the racing for a while considering 3 people here in orlando snaped 2nd gear and have dished major money for repairs,,, and im lucky as hard as i been on the car i have not one single problem with it in a year,,

so 6 months or so from now i will work more on performance, FMIC, 850s and UTEC.. also a clutch is in need of soon also

i really want some nice trap speeds,, 115-120 would be awsome for my set up, that will com in time

If you want an STi RA gearset, I know who ya can get one from for $1,600... That's the Whole set!! Gears, synchros and all that good stuff.. .Let me know if ya are interested

Those alone would improve some aspects of your 1/4 mile... Probably make your 60' slower though since 1st gear is alittle longer than stock... But all the other gears are closer together so ya stay right in the sweet spot of boost... I'm doing this to my SVX when I get it back... That should make it even more fun at the Dragon and AutoX's!!

so far the tranny has been doing well, .. if it does break the RA's are going in. also would like to rebuild the motor,, new racing pistons and rods, with a ver 7 heads with 8,500 rpm, but right now the motor is doing well, i havent push the barrier at all runing 16 psi.. and no need to rebuild a engine that runs fine now,

whene i start pushing 24-25 psi on stock internals and tranny is when things will be pushed, and hopefully push me in the high 11s or low 12s of course i need to have some funds saved whene something does let loose

Remember, you don't HAVE to get the RA gears, (common misconception) there is also the stock STi gears as well, with better top end and the same strength.
