Default HKS BOV cauze engine to run rich?

Ive had a HKS BOV in my 03 WRX for a while now and a friend of mine told me it cauzes the car to run rich durring shifts because of how the valve is set up to block off the other pipe. I assume he knows what hes talkin about he has the same car and alot more done to it. Now Im not expert at any of this, these things are easy to install, BOV, cold air intake, ez to install. But when it comes down to stuff like running rich or lean I dunno what the hell to do lol. Anyway if this is tru the HKS BOV causes the engine to run rich and makes me lose power (which I think I have noticed) how can I counter that? because Im not giving up my HKS valve over it. I like the sound too much.
Thnxs

1. Wrong forum. try 2.0l factory
2. Do a search for BOV's and CAI's. You will find a lot and find that you are wasting your money.
3. It is running rich because your factory is a recirc BOV and yours is likely venting to atmosphere and confusing the crap out of your ECU... There are BOV's that are hybrids that work well, and make the noise you are likely looking for...

Yah the ECU has to overcompensate for the loss of Air coming into the engine. Your blowing it off instead of it coming back in.
