Default Removel of the Wrx engine and tranny

I was wondering can the engine and tranny be taken out together? i have instuctions to take them out seperate but can it be done together to save me time?

Yes it can be done.. We did it with a 6spd and it is HUGE..

Where did you strap to the engine? I've been thinking I'll chain to the pitch mount, and then run a ratchet strap to the front of the engine to adjust angle.

Use a piece of heavy webbing tied through the manifold. Either that or use the points that Subaru recommends in the service manual. They can be removed in one piece as well as installed. You will have to take the hood off and you will need to have the car raised.

I used a load leveler pulling my motor out.

Decided not to use it putting the new Ver8 engine coupled with the RS transmission back in.

Had enough leverage from the transmission side to git 'er done.

Went smooth apart from my friend, who was helping me, dropping the engine too fast; almost having the transmission smash me was fun.
