Hey Guys,
Been doing a lot of research over the past couple years and am actually looking at my exact options I have to deal with. Swapping heads, ECU, turbo system onto an 100k engine isnt worth it when you can just drop a Spec C in. Now the questions start boiling down to which to choose, a V.7 or a V.8 (I really want twin-scroll w/ AVCS) I was told (somewhere around here) that a V.7 Spec C will "plug -in" and all I have to change are the wires for AVCS... how much of that is true? Im finding it hard to believe my USDM chasis/engine harness is the exact same, and will plug into a JDM V.7 Spec C ECU with the simple addition of 4 wires for AVCS. Please, can anyone give me a rundown... If I go with a V.8 transplant, how much wiring am I relistically having to do? Rich

wiring up the ver 7 and ver 8 is going to be pretty much the same. U use the wrx harness and buy an IAP performance avcs wiring kit off him and ur done. The ver8 has 1 extra sensor i forget which, not sure if its needed or not

It shouldn't be that hard to believe, they're the same chassis, same basic engine, the only real difference is the AVCS. I'm pretty sure you can bolt it in, swap the ECU's, add the AVCS harness, and you're pretty much done. Wish it was that easy for the GC's.

Well, if it helps, I have used two Ver. 7 ecu's and one Ver. 8 spec-c ecu on my Ver. 7 swap in my GC with Ver. 7 wiring. Even a US WRX ECU will plug into either harness AND run either engine.
