Question Timed Trigger: what to use?

I'm trying to figure out a way to enable my remote starter to start my vehicle at a predetermined time (ie 5:00pm), and am thinking about modding a 12 volt alarm clock to achieve this (using the alarm to trigger the module). I would rather use a timed relay, but the only relays I've been able to locate only control duration of trigger, which is of no use to me.

Does anyone know of a relay or timer that is capable of triggering the remote start module a preset time(s)?

Any help will be appreciated.

Are you sure yours can't do that presently? Many types have some feature that would allow it. Or at least a preset number of times (every two hours etc). Maybe even consider replacing it with one that can. Since all the wires are already in place the switch should not take long and there not that expensive. I have found this brand to be reliable and economical.
Plus you can check thier web site to make sure it has the features you want.

My remote starter is equipped with the "cold weather mode" feature which starts the vehicle every 2 hours, however, I can't program it to start my car at 5:00 am for example, which is what I want it to do.

Almost all the remote start modules I've seen (including Ultrastarters), have the cold weather feature, but none can be programmed to start at a specific time of the day.

I guess I'll just use the modded alarm clock until I can locate a better part.

Thanks for the help.

I just did a search and found that Prestige has a system the will do a 24hr start which I guess means you start it one day at 5pm it will start again the next day at 5pm.

Here is the link to the manual http://cartoys.com/cartoy/pdfs/aps996_manual.pdf

The "24 hour start" feature is built into the transmitter, which means the transmitter has to be in range for the vehicle to start. One of the reasons I would like to preset a start time is because I'm not in range to start the car and getting into range is an inconvenience.

Thanks for the link.
