Default Insurance in Thunderbird

Is one fully covered by ICBC while participating in a TSD Rally such as the up coming Thunderbird TSD Rally? How about in an autoX event?

TSD you are fully covered by ICBC. It's on public roads and you have to follow all the traffic laws. The speeds you're trying to maintain are set below the legal speed limit.

For autox you aren't covered by ICBC.

I once saw a Z06 lose it on an auto-x and hit a light standard at about 60-70 kph....complete and total writeoff.....ICBC was called and I think they laughed at the guy.

Rally Stuff

Thanks guys. Thought that was the case but had to check. I've been bitten pretty hard since getting my WRX and running in the Slush Series (name really is true now after the last event!). I've signed up for the Thunderbird but haven't fully comitted yet and sent in my money as it's an expensive weekend. But ya, looks like a hell of a time. And maybe the only TSD rally not too hard on an unprepared car? Want to check it out before deciding on car directions. Loving the autox but don't know if I can afford rallying!

Well, both sports, in fact any motorsport can get really expensive really fast if you think about it... just try everything, then do what you love best.

tbird is fully worth the costs IMO.
also note, that it is a two day tsd, and that increases the costs as well, one day events like heart of darkness and gold digger are a bit cheaper.

also keep in mind, that the novice series this year is going to include 3 events. 1 on tarmac through the maple ridge area and 2 on gravel - kamloops and hope.

like noted above - any question email me shawn at rallybc dot com
