Angry My trunk broken into, now I知 a static.

They took my sub, amp, tools, and jack. They only went into the trunk every thing else it there. They used a screwdriver to push the lock out, and they were in. and the alarm did nothing. I know this because I tried it after they did. I called the police and will call my insurance holder but, I don稚 think that I will get anything out of it. I think it was a hit on my car like someone saw what I had in there and they wanted it. But the good news is that I知 moving in two week to New City, and out of Jersey City Hts.

This is what happened to me.

I do not want any sympathy just wanted to vent my anger.

wow that sux, thats why I removed that little bar from my RS so they couldn't do that.
Something everyone should look at....Look behind the keyhole in the trunk, there is a little metal bar that connects the lock to the keywhole thing. Remove that bar! this way no one car break into ur trunk.
Sorry to hear about ur car.

ok, so if u remove the bar the only way to get into the trunk would be using the remote latch. But if you hit the switch that locks out that remote latch you'll never get into the trunk.

About a year back somebody broke into my old legacy took everything I had that wasnt nailed down. They got into the trunk by folding down the rear seats which I didnt have locked. That day I just happened to leave my detachable faceplate on. If you have a detachable faceplate USE IT! They also took my amp, two subs, radar, 50 CD's, along with the head unit, and my hands free phone. On top of that I had to replace a busted front window. I was depressed for a good month after that.

On the bright side I ended up getting myself a new system that was twice as good as the old and a Viper Alarm as well. No problems after that and I always take my faceplate and make sure the fold down seats are locked.

yeah, if you hit that little switch ur screwed. That actually happend to me when I was in VA and I had to stop at a local hardware shop, and remove the back seats. I was thinking of just cutting that thing off anyway..this way I can't lock myself out again.

Can you just use the key to get into the trunk?

Not after you remove that bar. I may be doing that soon instead of waiting for something to happen.

that bar connects the key hole to the lock. so if you remove it, the key hole is useless..its not connected to anything.
Its a good idea to do it, and I thought of it! so if you do this "mod" I want 10 bux!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Mark. I am going to have to agree with Jon and say shave it. The same thing happened to Eugene and he had the body shop shave his and it looks really good now.

Yeah I think our cars are big ass magnets to haters and people that like to bump into you..

car isn't a year old.. already has Key marks alllll over the driver side..from quarter panel to fender.. someone must've slammed their door open onto mine, cause the side molding has chipped paint and a scratch and a dent..and then someone must've backed up into my front bumper cause that has paint missing from it..and then a few days ago..an old lady decided to stop reaaaaaaaal short so my right fog light is gone..and my right headlight bulb blew out cause of the impact..and i have a dent on my right fender.. ISN'T IT LOVELY TO BE IN NYC?

good thing my pops owns a body shop eh?

whats this little switch you talking about ? why can't it be switched back so you wont get screwed ??

New Mod: disconnect the rear rod behind trunk key AND the remote trunk latch..
want trunk access ? go to back seats, reach hand in pass-thru, and pull string that is attached to "emergency" trunk latch lever inside the trunk.

and if anybody uses this mod idea. i charge only $5 !!
