Since it's our family/child hauler I need to ask this question:

Roughly how long would my WRX wagon be out of action up there if I were to get a transplant of STi engine/tranny/diffs?

This would be not using the STi brakes or suspension, so whatever the cheapest fastest way to deal with the axles/hubs issues that lets me get the STi diffs.

Thanks.

Rough estimates on the STi swap are about 3 weeks. I'm guessing that even if you didnt want the brakes/suspension it would still take about the same amount of time since majority of the swap is all the wiring.

Thanks for the info. So I guess we'll factor in renting a car in the meantime, or stealing one from my parents.
