Default Vishnu stage 0 with EMIA

Thinking of picking this up for $200 used.

Anyone with experiences? Worth the money?

I know it's tuned for uppipe and pulley. I have those (gutted uppipe) and I also have intake and planning on adding TBE. Is this going to cause any problems?

thx

I ran Vishnu stage zero for several months. Loved it. But here's a hint:

-->> ditch the aftermarket intake as fast as possible <<--

The stock intake is good for up to 400 hp or so. Vishnu (and many other staged package tuners) design their maps for the stock intact. You run an aftermarket and you'll probably lean, and blow something in the engine.

$200 for an Ecu with EcuTek is a good price, and a good investment IMO. You can get it reflashed when you add the TBE, for example, for $100 from KingPin.

Edit: the only reason I am no longer running Vishnu stage 0 is because I am running the equivalent of Vishnu Stage 2 now.

Sounds like he's getting a unichip, not an Ecutek. EMIA = emi adapter...which was an add-on to the unichip that allowed for changes to OL/CL fueling. Can't recall exactly what it did though...seems like it made the transition from CL to OL fueling happen at lower boost pressures...helping with partial throttle/full boost issues.

I had this setup and liked it ok on my '02 WRX. I'd definitely recommend scrapping the intake. Adding a TBE shouldn't hurt.

Oh and yes, this is the unichip.

Can someone give me a run down on this product? I read the link on vishnu, but I'm a total n00b. Is this a chip that plugs into the ecu and than the EMI plugs into the chip? I have no idea what I'm talking aobut here

And what's this hestation I've been reading about. Does the EMI elminate this?

Its sort of a piggyback for your piggy back. The EMI adapter was suppose to eliminate both fuel cut and high EGTs at part throttle. The fuel cut just allows you to run more boost. The Part Throttle High Boost (PTHB) was an issue so this simply switches to open loop sooner then normal. The stumble was from the CL - OL switch. Hope this helps.

P.S I have a vishnu Stage 1 Uni-Chip and EMI Adapter at home just been to lazy to list it in the classifieds

Please post in the right forum.

There are many experts on different facets of Subaru information. They tend to view and respond in the forums where their knowledge level is highest. By posting in the inappropriate forum, you are not only diluting the wrong forum, but short changing the search results of others and increasing the chances of an expert missing your question.
