Default Where are all the i-clubbers?

Okay,

I just moved to Aurora and have not had one single Impreza owner wave, smile, or do barely more than look at me here. I actually saw a guy in his white Impreza on HWY 70 and he and a bunch of his friends (passengers) were checking my Impreza out, I finally gave the thumbs up and he waved.

But then I saw some Asian kid in a REALLY NICE 93-96 White Impreza- gold rims, tinted windows, overall really nice. He turned left in front of me, went through a parking lot, then came back out behind me, and came to the light where I was waiting to turn left. He went by on the right, turning right, and I rolled my window down to say Hi and he just WENT RIGHT ON BY.

WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

So all I am saying is WHERE ARE THE COOL ICLUBBERS?

I am down for install fests (I have a two car garage, air tools, and a hot tub!) and general meetings around Denver/Aurora so let's hook up and get this stuff GOING!

Default Aurora People

There are a few of us out this way - and MANY new WRX's in Aurora. I live just south of Aurora and WRXNATE lives in Aurora - there are a few more that I see around. There are just so many Subaru's here and many of them are not car nuts - just people who bought the RS or WRX and are clueless. After all, Shortline is the largest volume Subaru dealership in the area and its here in Aurora.

Where exactly do you live - we can meet up and hang out.

I also am into install fests - I have a 3 car garage, a 60 inch HDTV and a decent amount of tools. Plus I have good connections for parts.

That's kind of what I figured - all the Subaru's around here are just family cars. I see lots of Mom's in RS's.

I live right near Quincy and Tower. Give me call sometime over the weekend - 303 699 2662 - and we can hook up.

I also want to check out the SCCA events in Denver. I see one for the 17th and I want to go RACE!

Thats the only bad thing about owning a Subaru in CO. Up until the 2k model year, when Subaru's performance started getting attention, everybody knew each other just by looking at the car alone.

Now there are a lot of 'average joes' driving 2001 RS's and WRX's. I'm not complaining, the more Subies there are the more stuff there is to spend on aftermarket goodies

brat,
do you have the car with the "dual canister" muffler that I see driving around in the springs sometimes?

JaMa,
Let me know when the next "install fest" is. I'm gonna round up some parts for a DIY intake for my Rex. Damned if I'm going to pya $250-$300 for a stainless pipe and a K&N.

I am up North of you but I am out driving alot. and yes there are a tone of subaru owners around that aren't into the club. I wave at people all the time and they just look at me funny colorado has more subies than any other state (i heard) and so most people just have them for the AWD in the snow.

I'm hoping to install a TEC-II install next weekend on the RS-Turbo. Anybody local have any experience with installing these?

You wanna get the O2 sensor bung welded in the exhaust first, I think right before the turbo is best. Make sure you plug the hole with the O2 sensor that comes with the kit (don't know if the bung is part of the kit though.

PS: I'd put the O2 sensor in the up-pipe where the EGT probe is now, and move the EGT probe to cylinder #3 like Shiv.
