Default 6mt in Aus spec My99 WRX (GC8)?

Ok guys I have searched but could find nothing.

I have a My99 WRX (GC8) and want to upgrade to 6 speed is it possible to use the MY01 sti tranny?

What are my options?

THanks in advance

you can swap in 6spd with clutch modification (push in vs push out) plus the driveshaft

I think you need a 6 speed clutch it should be the same type of clutch but while you're at it you might aswell do a new clutch

(He already has a GC8 WRX which should have the turbo style transmission)

But as said before you may have to swap your rear diff, axles, huibs etc to match it to convert to a R180 with the correct final gear.

as long as he has the hydraulic style clutch it doesn't matter push/pull is more for the impreza L's that have the cable clutch which involves lot more work.

a few guys on around here has done the 6speed in the GC body
