Yeah - the proper way to do this is to unplug the relay.

When you get them installed, wanna take a few pix of the beam pattern?

Do some reading in this forum first, particularly the HID FAQ up top. Retrofitting HIDs into the 04 lights does not yield very good results.

Yes, I've done all the reading, and heard you say that many times (you sound like a broken record).

I'm going to judge for myself what i'm comfortable with once I've seen pics.

Yeah, a broken record that sounds good though

Just keep in mind that whatever you find out is comfortable for you MAY not be true for other drivers on the road, especially the oncoming variety...

I fully intend to look at what the beam pattern looks/feels like to other drivers before I drive around. Just because I said comfortable doesn't mean I was only considering my comfort.

If you have the opportunity to do so, look at the headlights on the 04/05 WRX side-by-side with those on an STi. You'll see that although at first they appear to be identical, on close inspection they are not. The reflector design on the STi is different, in order to accomodate the HID output properly.

the best way is to just unplug the relay on the driver side near the glove. Its not really hard, some people even said they didnt even need to take out the glove. I am a newbie, and i even did it. Its not hard at all, and i have a 05 wrx. Its near a yellow thing, it should say DLR

10000K ? well that is mostly color and not usefullness.....the higher you go the more color you get but less usable light. i installed some 6000K in my friends RX8 and they are a nice purpleish color and still very usefull....best would be 4150 or 5KK..

im using 8000k on my 05 wrx, honestly i dont have a problem with the beam pattern, it all depends on you. Some people dont like it and some do.
