You don't know about it..

Default Headswap, internals?

OK, I've got a 94 Legacy Turbo. You all know the basic setup, SOHC EJ22T.

Well, I've got a nice lead on a set of 93 EJ20G heads.

So, from a purely mechanical standpoint, how am I gonna get this to work out?

I've been considering just keeping the 2.2L internals (keep the stock crank, get forged EJ22 rods, and forged EJ22 pistons), and bolt the heads to the block with ARP studs. I've also considered running an EJ257 crank with EJ22 rods and pistons. I'm not sure what the latter would accomplish other than potentially making up for a pretty low compression ratio caused by the head swap.

Speaking of CR, what am I going to look at in terms of the final CR?

Also, what valvetrain would you guys recomend?

I'm shooting for around 350awhp on pump gas for now, but being a daily driver, I still want at least some low end punch. Should I just keep the stock cams with new springs and retainers? I'd like the ability to throw down over 400 to the wheels on race gas if at all possible.

Also, what am I going to run into in terms of coolant passages lining up to the block, and what kind of prep will be needed for the EJ20G heads to be bolted to the EJ22T block? Where can I get the head gaskets?

I don't expect this to be a plug-and-play operation, but I'm trying to gauge what kind of work I am in for.

For electronics, I'm planning on running a 94 JDM WRX ECU and a UNICHIP for tuning. Out of curiousity, what can I expect my redline to be? I figure right around 7500, maybe 8k?

Let me know what you guys think. I appreciate any input!
