Default should I port my wastegate?

OK guys, I know that there has been discussions before regarding porting the wastegate, but I'm curious who thinks what??

c/n-

04 sti down pipe and cold air intake system, along with cold air = major boost creep=fuel cut=danger

during this really cold spell I was seeing 22 psi.

Whats your opinions?

dont port... Just dont. If its done incorrectly your turbo is screwed. I had one done by an 'expert' who shall remain nameless and it leaks.

C'mon, help fellow consumers out. Who ported your turbo?

I ported mine on my 05 STi when I put on the TBE from TurboXS. Not one problem in the extream cold and I hold boost just fine. If you follow the directions in one of the threads out here about how to do it you will see it is well worth it and not that hard at all! Spool time is much faster too by the way!

the problem I am having is that the wastegate is opening prematurely. I think this is due to the increased surface are of the larger flapper. However, I just read up on Perrins new boost solenoid and this seems that it will fix the problem associated with a larger ported wastegate flapper. It does not have to be setup as a bleed setup which is nice. It is fairly similar to the 3 port GM solenoid that people have beeen talking about recently.
