Question I'm looking to unhook seat airbag harness...

Hey guys!
I'm looking to mount a dvd player underneath my passenger side seat. In order to do this, I'm going to take the seat out to make it easier. Are there any precautions I should take when disconnecting the airbag harness underneath? I don't want the thing to go off(especially in my face). Let me know guys! Thanks!

Mike

Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and step on the brake pedal until the odometer goes out. Make sure that you tie up the negative battery lead so that it doesn't accidentally make contact with the battery again.

You should also wait several minutes after disconnecting the battery, it doesn't matter if you step on the brake or not. The airbag module has its own internal backup power to keep it energized long enough to deploy the bags if the car's electrical system goes dead, so you need to allow time for it to drain.
