Default Clutch shudder?

I just purchased a 2002 wagon that has a kartboy short shifter.

When I shift from 4th to 5th I consistently get a "grind" noise. The noise doesn't sound like metal to metal, but more like plastic rubbing together.
I do not get this in any other gears?

Any ideas what this is? Is this the infamous clutch shudder?

Clutch shudder != grinding gears- you have other issues.

Any ideas? Might it some sort of bushings from the short shifter?

Clutch shudder would be felt initially takinging off in first ... What you describe sounds more like a syncro issue ... Is it only in 4th to 5th shifts?

Yes, the noise is only from 4th to 5th.

Starting in first is always a little rough (I have driven stick for a couple of years, just thought I'm not use to the WRX) - but I don't hear any grinding in first.
