Default Flywheel install, suggest a shop.

Like the title says. I need to get a flywheel installed in my car non-subaru car. I would do it me self I've done engine swaps so this is easy but I don't have a shop anymore so I need a mechanic.

What should I expect to pay for this, I just had a clutch and new tranny installed but the flywheel did not arrive in time and I am not going back to the same mechanic because they did not resurface the original flywheel and now I got a odd noise from it.

Thank's for the info guys.

It would help if you told us what car it is, otherwise there is no way to guesstimate prices.

If its a Honda/Acura/Nissan/Toyota/Subaru I feel confident on it. Anything else I'd have to ask my mechanic. LoL!

Yeah madman it's for my baby the impulse. I can't believe I left out that critical detail sorry guys. I can pull the engine my self in 4 hours but I don't feel like it and I don't have a proper place to do it at the moment. It totally sucks that I have to end up doing all the work myself because most mechanics have never laid eyes on one of these before.

P.s I am looking into getting a crach cage installed aswell .

You don't have to try very hard to get me to talk about that thing Here we go.

Isuzu impulse rs, Awd, Timc, Turbo 4cyl only 800 made worldwide (gemini oz does not count it's a storm body). The suspension was designed/refined by lotus in exchange for the engine that lotus used in the elan in '91. That's right the engine is exactly the same as the lotus. At 2500 lbs and 220 hp it hauls ass, and handles even better. I installed brembo rotors, 400 hp holding cap' clutch, Toyota tokico illumina struts, Accord coilover suspension, a whole bunch of other stuff and I have more to do.

A little backround on isuzu. Gm forced isuzu to stop making car's because they were out selling their re badged cheap storm even though they are the same vehicle(aside from cosmetics). In '91 and '92 Isuzu made the gemini irchmer r, It's a awd turbo sedan that was only sold in japan and aus (I believe). When isuzu fired all their employees they went somewhere right? Take a look at a '93-'01 impreza and compare it to a '90-'92 stylus/irchmer I see alot of similarities. The impulse rs was the reason I got the sti. My only criteria was turbo,ic,4cyl & imported. Only scooby got my attention.

The car is basically race ready right now and I intend to have it off road very soon. I have written off any monetary value in my mind so I don't care about damaging it. I just want to get cheap sideways seat time. The flywheel is secondary what I really have to get done is the cage.

when it comes to cages, i dont think it is subaru specific. i think it is more knowing how to make a legal cage specific, and there is a lot to do to make it legal.

I got a cage build by pat and it's very good. He's reasonable and knowledgable. Infact dropped off my car with nothing and picked it up with a CARS log-book. That's right - turn key rally ready! I just sat at home and waited.

They are also not limited to Subaru's. I saw an old SAAB96 getting caged when I was there.
