Post How many watts can are headlight take before they melt.

Will they take Headlamp Bulbs 90/100W - without melting? Who has these? If you do let me know because isnt are lights stock like 50 watts or something, please help me.

At double the wattage I think you will do a sufficient job of melting something... plastic in the housing area due to excessive heat or associated wiring due to incresed amperage.

Most of the time when you run higher than stock wattages you start melting things. In my opinion you would probably melt the wiring before you melt the housing. Of course to prevent the wires from melting we have fuses.

In anycase, I would be wary of using any wattage that is much higher than stock.

I had PIAA 80W/80W superwhite for about ten months before the bulb burnt. No damage whatsoever on the headlight housing or the wiring. Don't know about 90/100W though.

BTW, PIAA bulb sucks. I'll never buy them again.
