the snorkel we have in our WRX's were meant to smooth out the airflow and make it more consistent -- what turbos like.

This argument is quite stale and if you search you'll find lots of stuff regarding it. -- and the same thing goes on -- the people that have it will defend it to death versus the opposing side.

My opinion = minimal gains for a decent chance to mess with your car.



ps. all places selling one will say good things about it..
It needs to be tuned to your car for proper/consisten results.

Not necessarily.
Almost all WRX owners that come to the shop ask me about intakes but I tell them not to bother and I highly go against recommending it. Would I have made a sale? Yes. But I don't operate like that. I tell them to save money for a catback exhaust and then go for a downpipe and reap the real benefits of a turbocharged vehicle.

I just removed the snorkus for sound reasons, I was not expecting performance gains..

I'm wasting $$$ on a BOV too..

My only concern is how much I degrade performance.. If it's alot I won't do it, bit if it's minor, and something I can make up for later on, then no problem.
