Here's my issue I plan on swapping a ej20t into my vw bug. Yah call me crazy however, I need a big project after spending an extended vacation in the lovely state of kuwait. Ok nitty gritty... quite simply I need an engine that will last and one I can easily maintain. My car will not be subject to emissions and I can pretty much tailor my car to fit the engine. I need to know if I should go Jdm or Usdm keeping in mind any maintance issues. Oh and I need like 50,000-75,000 miles before anything major mechanical. Another concideration is wiring and any schematics backing my adventure up. Any info or input is appreciated,
Thanks vwconvert1915

If you're really concerned about maintenance, I would get a USDM WRX motor. Any form of sti is probably overkill.

hey, im also doing the subaru in vw conversion. i got the ej20g, mainly because an sti engine or any other would just be overkill to the 10th degree. we are talking about sub 2000 lb vehicles here. you can pick up a low milage one for about 750 bucks.
im in Orange county CA, where are you located? |
