Default Speedo not working

My speedometer doesnt work, and the check engine light is on due to it. Last night i felt the car bogging some like it was dying down and Everytime i start the car it flashes "AT OIL TEMP" this car runs perfect before the speedometer stopped working, can anything bad happen? Thank you.

How do you know that the CEL is on due to the speedometer? If you pulled the code, what is the code? If you didn't, go pull the code and post that. It would also help if you posted the make (Subaru?), model & year car you are talking about.
AT Oil Temp means the auto transmission fluid (oil) is getting too hot -- either a problem with cooling it, or a problem with the transmission, generating excess heat.

If your speedo isn't working, your Omputer won't know how fast your car is going... it thinks you're parked. So, it won't put the engine under load over 4k rpm or so.

Plus, it would really help if we knew what kind of car it was.

Go get your speedo fixed.
