Question Oil choice 101...

Okay,
check it out, I'm trying to decide what oil I should use in my 96 imp with an ej18. 140K mi, cold as hell this winter and it takes forever for my lifters to fill up, just a clickin and a clackin. My last oil change used 10 40, but is there one thats more suitable for an old dog like mine? I drive her lots and have to fire her up early morn. It gets down to 0-ish and up to 40 currently, so I let her warm for at least 15 min before taking off in 5 degree stuff. I usually use 10 40 or 20 50 in the summer when its hot. I sorta forgot oil theory and wonder what you all think.
Thanks
clicky

I'd definitely drop down to something like a 5w-30. If you want to give synthetic a try, you go give the Mobil1 0w-40 a shot.
