Default What type of oil to use on high mileage car?

My beater is 92 Honda Prelude with over 150k miles on. I have 3 types of oil I have in mind of using.

1. Valvoline maxlife for engines with over 75k miles
2. Mobil1 synthetic oil
3. Conventional oil

What type of oil should I use on this car to prolong the life of an engine?

Thanks!

Keep putting in whatever has allowed it to last this long. If it hasn't had synthetic up until this point, don't start now, or you may start getting some small leaks. That Maxlife sounds like marketing and nothing else, but I'm sure it's good oil regardless.

^^^ I'll second that one ... However if your oil pressure seems to run a bit low, you could always bump it up a level ... 5w-30 to 10w-30 ... Have to agree with staying with whatever brand you've always used though, lots of oils are different ... Different detergent levels, additives and so on ... It's always been my practice to stay with one brand (Mobil1) ... Don't really know if it matters, it probably doesn't, but it's less for me to worry about ...

Are you burning/using oil? If not, don't do anything different. If you are, try a thicker grade.

Like they said, whatever you've been using before should be fine. But as long as you don't have to pay too much extra, one of those "high mileage" oils could be handy too.
