Default how did it go when clearing your headlights

I read the post on clearing 04/05 WRX headlights (its a fantastic post). When I got to the part about putting the super expensive HID's in the OVEN, I was like hell no. I really want to clear my lights, but im nervous about doing it. How did it go for you? Did you mess anything up?

There are plenty of threads on this topic, both in this forum and Interior/Exterior. With the HID lights you have the added risk of water intrusion damaging the ballasts if you don't reseal the lights properly, this has happened to a number of STi owners.

I have done it about 8 times now total with both sti and wrx headlights. The first couple times as long as you really take your time and follow it step by step you will be ok. Also when you put in the oven make sure its face up so that the lens isn't touching anything because you can melt that slightly. When you reseal them make sure you get something that is really good, I have found using like the sealant you use to seal windshields and such in works great. I have never had a leak with using that stuff. Also if its possible to have someone local that has done it before help you it can be a great help. At the very least another helping hand is great to have around

Aright let me know, at my body shop we hold meets and what not time to time so maybe you could come down on one of those days, my other name is Ultimate CC. Keep an eye out in the tristate vendor classifieds in the spring for a meet.

It is a lot easier with 2 people when seperating the lens and housing. I have no experience with HIDs though.
